Do you struggle with keeping your home clean and organized, especially if you have kids and pets and work from home? Do you feel stressed and overwhelmed by the clutter, mess, and chaos in your living space? If so, you are not alone. Many people face the same challenge every day. Today, I want to share with you something that has made a huge difference in my life: a daily home reset list.
That’s why I decided to do something about it. I took some time off from work and did a massive home deep cleaning. I tackled all the high-traffic areas of my home: the kitchen, the living room, the entryways, the bedrooms, and the bathrooms. I decluttered, dusted, scrubbed, wiped, sorted, and organized everything until it was sparkling clean and tidy.
It felt so good to see my home looking fresh and inviting. But I knew that it wouldn’t last long if I didn’t have a system to maintain it. That’s why I created a daily home reset list: a simple list of tasks that I do every day to keep my home in order.
The daily home reset list has been a game-changer for me. It has helped me stay on track with my natural living and support goals, as well as my homeschool and work-from-home routines. It has also improved my mental health and clarity, as well as my children’s. It’s amazing how much a clean and organized environment can affect our mood, productivity, and happiness.
I want to share with you my daily home reset list so that you can try it for yourself and see the benefits. It’s not something that I would have thought had such a massive impact on our routines and success, but it has been life-changing, to say the least!
Here are some of the benefits that I have experienced since using a daily home reset list:
- I save time and energy: By doing small tasks every day, I avoid having to do big cleaning projects later on. I also avoid wasting time looking for things or moving things around.
- I reduce stress and anxiety: By having a clear and simple plan for each day, I avoid feeling overwhelmed or frustrated by the state of my home. I also avoid feeling guilty or ashamed of having guests over.
- I increase productivity and creativity: By having a clean and organized workspace, I avoid distractions and interruptions that can affect my focus and flow. I also feel more inspired and motivated to work on my projects.
- I enhance health and wellness: By having a clean and hygienic living space, I avoid exposure to dust, allergens, germs, or pests that can cause health problems. I also feel more comfortable and relaxed in my home.
- I boost happiness and satisfaction: By having a beautiful and inviting living space, I enjoy spending time in my home more. I also feel more proud and grateful for what I have.
These are just some of the benefits that I have experienced since using a daily home reset list. But don’t take my word for it. Try it for yourself and see how it can change your life, too!
My Daily Home Reset List
Here is what I do every day to keep my home clean and organized. It’s not an exhaustive list, but it covers the essentials. You can adapt it to your own needs and preferences.
In the morning:
- Tidy my bedroom: I make the bed, put away any clothes or items that are out of place, and open the curtains to let in some natural light.
- Feed the pets and livestock: I give them fresh water and food and check on their health and well-being.
- Sweep the kitchen: I use a broom or a vacuum to remove any crumbs or dirt from the floor.
- Unload the dishwasher: I put away all the clean dishes and utensils in their proper places.
- Prepare the homeschool day ahead: I review the lesson plans, gather the materials, and set up the learning space for my kids.
- Put a load of clothes in the washer/dryer: I sort the dirty laundry by color and fabric type and start a load in the washer or dryer.
In the afternoon:
- Clean and tidy the countertops: I wipe down all the surfaces in the kitchen and bathroom with a natural cleaner and put away any items that don’t belong there.
- Vacuum: I use a vacuum cleaner to remove any dust or dirt from the carpets, rugs, and furniture.
- Fold laundry: I take out the clothes from the dryer or the clothesline, fold them neatly, and put them away in their drawers or closets.
- Wash the stove: I use a natural cleaner and a sponge to remove any grease or food residue from the stovetop and oven.
- Tidy the living room: I fluff up the pillows, fold any blankets, straighten any books or magazines, and put away any toys or items that are out of place.
- Tidy the bathroom: I put away any toiletries or products that are out of place, hang up any wet towels, empty the trash bin, and replace any empty toilet paper rolls.
In the evening:
- Load the dishwasher: I rinse off any dishes or utensils that are dirty and load them into the dishwasher.
- Load the washer/dryer: I pick up clothes strewn throughout the house and start a load in the washer or dryer.
- Clean and tidy the countertops: I repeat the same task as in the afternoon, but this time for both the kitchen and bathroom countertops.
- Feed the pets: I give them fresh water and food again before they go to sleep.
- Vacuum: I repeat the same task as in the afternoon, but this time for both the living room and bedroom floors.
- Take out the trash: I collect all the trash bags from around the house, tie them securely, and take them out to the curb or dumpster.
